West Village

Welcome to West Village

A trendy neighborhood with fun community events and attractions

When people think of New York City, they often think of Manhattan; however, the city has many affluent and vibrant neighborhoods, such as West Village. The area was named after the west bank of the Hudson River, where the neighborhood is located. It’s one of the best places to live in Manhattan and has the beloved New York City vibe many locals seek.

The West Village has been home to some of the most prominent historical figures and well-known celebrities. The community continues to be one of the most storied and sought-after neighborhoods in New York City, with residents ranging from artists and musicians to executives and families. The neighborhood is an exciting destination with colonial brownstones, mid-rise condominiums, walkups, and other charming homes.

The community is known for its charming cobblestone streets, independent shops, and restaurants. It has a vibrant community of artists, writers, and musicians. On the west side of Manhattan, the West Village has an active lifestyle with a relaxed atmosphere, often described as funky, eclectic, and artsy. The bohemian, artsy neighborhood is home to some of the city’s best restaurants, jazz clubs, and art galleries. It is also a great place to experience Old New York. Locals can find a quiet park or a bustling restaurant, and it is only a short train ride to the country’s most famous attractions. The West Village is the place to be if you’re looking for nightlife in New York or if you’re looking to experience the city in a new and exciting way.

McNulty’s Tea & Coffee Co is a quaint shop that sells a variety of tea and coffee, and specialty items. Cowgirl is a western-themed eatery with charming décor that serves southern comfort food like pies, chili, potatoes, and more. Boucherie is a two-story bistro with a large stunning dining space that features a bar and elegant tables. The restaurant serves French cuisines, dry-aged steaks, and quality cocktails.

While West Village is an active area, there are still places to soak in the sun and enjoy leisure activities. James J Walker Park is a common green space with a playground, sports courts, and fields for bocce ball, handball, baseball, and more. Residents enjoy Washington Square Park in the historic Greenwich Village, a West Village neighborhood. The park hosts many fun events, like parades, and features an iconic archway, fountain, playground, and pet-friendly areas.

New York City Schools serves K-12 West Village students.
